COVID-19 is a big thing. I will never say that it isn't. It spreads very fast. Technically and physically, one person can infect two people. Those two infected can each infect two more.That gives four. It can spread exponentially. That being said, every respiratory related death is not a COVID-19 related death.
Take, for instance, Natasha Ott. She was 39 years old when she passed in New Orleans. A tragedy in no uncertain terms. But, the media immediately runs off and says that she died due to COVID-19. long before aby medical report on what led to her untimely demise comes in, the news outlets are using her death to spread fear.
It turns out that there was, in fact, no trace of COVID-19 in her system when she died. This struck the medical examiner and the media dumb. It was so surprising that the ME went back for a second test. Again, the results came back negative.
This is precisely what the Italian hospitals were doing. When someone died in a hospital where there were patients with COVID-19, that death was attributed to COVID-19.
My point here is that the media, mistakenly or deliberately, has taken to fear mongering. In this case the media diagnosed the cause of death and announced it before the ME could make his announcement.
I ask you, is that responsible reporting or is that fear mongering?
